Bible Reading Plans for 2025
“Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.” - Charles Spurgeon
Whether you have read through the Bible many times or you have never completed a Bible reading plan, resolve in your spirit to make 2025 a year devoted to the regular and intentional reading of God’s Word. Afterall, “man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord” (Deuteronomy 8:3).
Below are several different options for Bible reading plans. They vary in structure and amount of reading, and I trust there is something for everyone. Print them out and place them in your Bible or wherever you plan on reading daily. Be honest about how much you can handle, and commit to following the plan diligently. Be consistent, and most important, do not quit.
Read through the Bible in a year with each day of the week dedicated to a different genre: epistles, the law, history, Psalms, poetry, prophecy, and Gospels.
3 Different Navigators Reading Plans
This document contains three different options for Bible reading plans.
First is the Entire Bible Reading Plan. Read through the entire Bible in one year, with both Old and New Testament readings each day. Each month of this plan gives you only twenty-five readings, allowing you to set aside Sundays for study or catching up on missed readings.
Second is the 5X5X5 New Testament Plan. Read through the New Testament in a year, reading Monday to Friday. Weekends are set aside for reflection and other reading. This plan is especially beneficial if you’re new to a daily discipline of Bible reading.
Third is the Book-at-a-Time Bible Reading Plan. Read through the entire Bible in one year, with two readings each day, the first one alternating between Old and New Testament books with the Gospels spread throughout, and the second being a chapter of the wisdom literature and Isaiah. As with the first plan, it gives you only twenty-five readings each month.
Chronological Bible Reading Plan
Read through the Bible in the order the events occurred chronologically.
Four daily readings taken from four lists: Psalms and wisdom literature, Pentateuch and history of Israel, Chronicles and prophets, and Gospels and epistles.
ESV 6-Month New Testament Reading Plan
Read straight through the New Testament in six months by focusing on a short section each day.
The Old Testament readings are ordered similarly to Israel’s Hebrew Bible, and the New Testament readings attempt to follow the order in which the books were authored.
Robert Murray M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
Read the New Testament and Psalms twice and the Old Testament once.
Straight-through-the-Bible Reading Plan
Read straight through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Read the Old and New Testaments once and Psalms and Proverbs four times.
