The plan for 2025
How did we get here
When I started my blog in June 2023, I saw it as an outlet for me to deal with Canadian cultural and political issues from a Christian and Theonomic perspective (hence the name Maple Theonomist). I was full-time with Liberty Coalition Canada as the Director of Operations, and along with our podcast Liberty Dispatch (you should sign up for our new Substack here), my other duties filled my time and schedule; all I could contribute to The Maple Theonomist was weekly articles.
In anticipation of my role with LCC coming to an end as of January 1st of this year, I began to consider how to best use my time to not only continue my writing but also expand on it. Not only that, but could I use this outlet as a means of providing for my family and adding some additional income? What if I could add more content that people would find beneficial, edifying, and informative, so much so that they would support it financially?
So here we are, trying something new, trusting God will provide, believing that I can in some way contribute to the building up of the Church in Canada and using my gifts to join in Christ’s work of advancing His Kingdom in our country.
New things on the horizon
I will continue to write weekly articles on various subjects, with the same emphasis on cultural and political analysis from a Biblical worldview, and they will continue to be FREE and available to everyone. I doubt that will ever change (unless, of course, I become some sort of gigantic mega-star).
The next component I will be adding is The Maple Theonomist Podcast. These will be longer discussions/interviews covering the same kinds of subject matter that I deal with in my blog, but with guests who happen to be engaged in those particular areas. The first of these discussions, dropping before the end of January, will be free for everyone. Subsequent interviews, at a frequency yet to be determined, will only be available to annual subscribers who do so either monthly or annually. I trust the content will be valuable.
I will also be releasing Bible Studies on various topics periodically throughout the year. These studies will be in the format of multi-session studies, with audio teaching and study guides that can be downloaded to follow along. These studies will be ideal for either personal study or even for a small group. This is a larger undertaking for me, and I want to ensure that I put in the work to make them worthwhile.
The first of these studies will be released before the end of the month. It will be a six-session study on the 5 Solas of the Reformation. This first study in its entirety will be free for all subscribers. Beyond that, in order to access any subsequent studies, one will have to join the Partner Plan ($500 annually), which is quite a bit more than the standard annual paid subscription. Just to be clear, joining the Partner Plan will give you access to every study that I produce – it’s $500 for the year, not per study. Also, as a partner plan, you will also get access to all of the interviews.
I understand this is a larger financial commitment, but I trust it will be worth the cost. Just to give you an idea of what I plan on doing this year (2025), I hope to release the following studies, with audio recordings and study guides:
The Most Beautiful Flower in God’s Garden
TULIP and the Doctrines of GraceAlive and New in Christ
A Study in EphesiansPromises and Fulfillment
A Study in Covenants, The Kingdom of God, and Eschatology
Just to be clear…
I want to sincerely thank all of you who subscribe to this Substack, read my blogs, and share it with others. I hope that my musings are a blessing to you. I also want to especially thank those of you who already support my work financially through paid subscriptions. Your generosity is what has encouraged me to take this step into new territory and put in even more time and effort to produce new and more content.
I also want to say that if there is anything you think it would be good for me to address on a podcast, including inviting specific guests, send me a message and let me know. I am open to suggestions.
I am quite excited for 2025, and I trust that the Lord’s plans are right and good. I believe that come this time next year, we will be able to look back at this year and marvel at God’s provision and care for His people.
